Introduction to night photography 8/24
Saturday August 24th Join Brian Chambers for a class which will teach you how to take amazing photos after the sun sets. The class will begin at Brian's gallery in downtown Hood River at 4pm for a 60-90 minute power-point lecture that covers everything you need to know to start your adventure in night photography. Class will cover gear, technique, planning, software and more. There will then be a break for you to grab some dinner (and read your camera manual 😁 ) and we will meet up during sunset at a location approximately 30 minutes (or less) from downtown Hood River. The planned on location has a great view of Mt Hood and the Milky way with nice dark skies. Depending on weather and other factors this location is subject to change. The "in field" part of the class will run from approximately 7:30pm-10pm although you will be welcome to stay longer if you wish.
Skill level This class will be suitable for any skill level although it will be most helpful to those who have a basic understanding of camera controls such as shutter speed. aperture, and iso.
Gear requirements Night photography can be done with almost any camera but it is easiest with a relatively modern digital camera with a wide angle lens and a fast aperture (f2.8 or faster). You will need a way to hold your camera steady such as a good quality tripod. Please email me if you have any questions about gear etc. I may have some loaner tripods available.
Cost The class is offered at a low introductory price of just $75 and that price covers instructions only. Students will be required to have their own transportation and gear. Car pooling to the field class is encouraged.
